Lavandula × chaytorae
Woolly lavender hybrid (Lavandula × chaytorae) is a perennial that reaches 50 cm × 60 cm after ten years. Light: full sun. Hardy down to -12 °C. Drought tolerance: high.
A hybrid of woolly and English lavender with silver-white felted leaves that look good all year and deep violet, scented flower spikes in summer that bees love. It is less hardy than English lavender and hates winter wet, so give it full sun, gritty and sharply drained soil and a sheltered spot, or grow it in a container that you move somewhere frost-free and bright for winter. Trim after flowering, but never into old wood.
