Anemone blanda
Grecian windflower (Anemone blanda) is a perennial. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: medium. Mildly toxic to children.
A tiny tuberous anemone that weaves a carpet of blue, white or pink daisy-like flowers under deciduous trees and shrubs in early spring. Plant the tubers in autumn after soaking them overnight. The foliage dies back completely by early summer, so put it where later perennials cover the gap and where the soil does not stay wet in summer.
