Sesleria autumnalis
Autumn moor grass (Sesleria autumnalis) is an ornamental grass that reaches 45 cm × 40 cm after ten years. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: high. Sold in local shops from about €4.20.
Autumn moor grass is a low ornamental grass that forms dense, arching tussocks of lime-green foliage which largely persists through winter, with silvery flower spikes in late summer and autumn. It does well in sun or part shade, even under trees, and tolerates drought and limy soil, so planted in drifts it makes a ground cover that needs almost no care. A single plant is modest, the effect comes from groups; just comb it out or cut it back in late winter.
