Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna'
Woodland sage 'Caradonna' (Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna') is a perennial. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -20 °C. Drought tolerance: high. Sold in local shops from about HUF 1,500.
Deep purple flower spikes and almost black stems work well in sunny borders, alongside ornamental grasses or in larger pots, and attract pollinators. Give it well-drained soil; established plants tolerate heat and drought well. Cut back faded stems after the first flowering flush to encourage another display later in the season.
