Campanula garganica
Adriatic bellflower (Campanula garganica) is a ground cover plant that reaches 15 cm × 45 cm after ten years. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: medium. Sold in local shops from about HUF 1,400.
A low, cushion-forming bellflower that almost disappears under starry blue flowers in early summer. It is made for walls, crevices, troughs, rock gardens and the edge of a bed in well-drained soil, and keeps its leaves through a mild winter. The golden-leaved 'Dickson's Gold' scorches in hot sun, so give it afternoon shade, and protect the plants from slugs.
