Coreopsis verticillata
Threadleaf coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata) is a perennial that reaches 60 cm × 60 cm after ten years. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -40 °C. Drought tolerance: medium. Non-toxic to dogs and cats. Sold in local shops from about €3.90.
An airy perennial with fine, thread-like foliage, covered in starry yellow flowers from early summer into autumn. It is undemanding and long-lived in a sunny, well-drained spot and takes heat well, though it flowers better with some watering in long droughts. It flops in rich or moist soil and spreads slowly by short rhizomes.
