Deutzia scabra
Fuzzy deutzia (Deutzia scabra) is a shrub. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: medium. Sold in local shops from about PLN 23.
A tall, upright shrub with arching branches that is covered for about two weeks in early summer with lightly scented flower clusters, white or flushed pink on the outside and rosette-like in the double cultivars. It suits the back of a shrub border or a loose flowering screen, though it is rather plain once flowering is over. It flowers on the previous year's shoots, so prune straight after flowering and cut a few old stems to the base each year, or it goes bare at the bottom.
