Lonicera × heckrottii
Goldflame honeysuckle (Lonicera × heckrottii) is a climber. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: medium. Sold in local shops from about €20.
Goldflame honeysuckle is one of the longest-flowering climbing honeysuckles: its fragrant flowers, pink outside and yellow inside, open from early summer into autumn and draw butterflies. It climbs by twining stems, so it needs a trellis, wires, a fence or a pergola and will not go up a bare wall on its own. Growth is fairly open, so do not expect a solid screen; it flowers best in sun and keeps part of its foliage in mild winters.
