Sedum spurium
Caucasian stonecrop (Sedum spurium) is a ground cover plant that reaches 15 cm × 90 cm after ten years. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -34 °C. Drought tolerance: high. Sold in local shops from about HUF 990.
A low, succulent ground cover that quickly knits a dense mat with its rooting stems and is covered in pink, red or white starry flowers in summer, which bees and butterflies like. It suits sunny, dry spots with poor soil, such as rock gardens, banks and green roofs, where it needs almost no care, but it will not stand waterlogged ground. It spreads strongly, so plant it where an edge or paving holds it in and do not let it wander out of the garden.
