Carex oshimensis
Japanese sedge (Carex oshimensis) is an ornamental grass that reaches 45 cm × 45 cm after ten years. Light: full sun, part shade. Hardy down to -29 °C. Drought tolerance: low. Sold in local shops from about €4.20.
A low evergreen sedge with arching leaves, sold almost only in yellow or cream striped forms. It suits the edge of a part-shaded bed, the ground under trees and containers, and keeps its colour through winter. It wants evenly moist soil and copes badly with drying out, so plant it in sun only where you can water it.
